  1. When I bought this album I had no idea the original recording was made in on a digital 2 track recorder. I freaked a bit when I opened up the box and read it. “What a waste of money” was my first the first thing that came into my mind. Things weren’t as bad as I initially taught.
  2. Flim & the BBs have been on my musical radar for at least three decades. I'd read the reviews and seen the cute album cover artwork on advertisements since probably as far back as I suppose I suspected it would be some form of inaccessible "free jazz"; artsy and mind-numbing or perhaps I was suspicious since none of the musicians were /5(42).
  3. Über ein Jahrzehnt war das noch heute legendäre Album von Flim and the BB's nicht mehr erhältlich. Jetzt taucht Tricycle wieder aus der Versenkung auf – und zwar als UHQCD (Ultimate High Quality CD). Tell Me Thunder And Birdies.

  5. Aug 14,  · TriCycle is a very good album by a very good band. This is the debut album by ace bassist Jimmy “Flim” Johnson & sax virtuoso Dick Oatts with keyboards & drums by Bill Barber & Bill Berg that is well-known among audiophiles as a test CD for evaluating audio systems. That aside, the music in & of itself is outstanding.

  9. Flim & the BB's are a contemporary jazz band that formed in the late seventies and are the first jazz band to appear on compact disc. The band's name comes from the nickname of Jimmy Johnson (bassist) and the initials of the other two members, Bill Berg and Billy Barber (musician) (Dick Oatts, a woodwind player, would join the group in ).
